Girls Basketball gets convincing win

The Newington High girls basketball team improved its record to 2-1 Tuesday night with a convincing 46-25 win over Bloomfield at home.

The Indians got out to a big lead right away as they led 14-5 at the end of the first quarter and 28-9 at halftime. Bloomfield attempted a comeback with a strong third quarter, but it wasn’t enough in the end.

Leading the way for Newington was Abrial Murray with 21 points. Five of her eight made baskets came on 3-pointers. No other Newington player scored in double digits.
