Girls Basketball wins opener

 Newington 59, South Windsor 42: Marc Tancredi’s debut as the Indians girls basketball coach was a successful one to say the least.

Newington finished with three players in double figures as the Indians cruised to a 59-42 win over South Windsor.

Aby Flores had a team-high 15 points. Sabrina Soled added 12 and Ashanti Frazier scored 10. Olivia St. Remy and Erika Cuevas had nine and eight rebounds respecivley for Newington.

The Indians also outscored South Windsor in every quarter, including a 20-point third that helped them take a 17-point advantage into the fourth.
