Girls Basketball to take on South Windsor

 Newington was the third local team to qualify for the Class LL tournament with a 10-10 record. The Indians got the 25 seed and will take on No. 8 South Windsor February 27 at 7 p.m.

“South Windsor is going to be a big challenge,” Newington head coach Rick Bangs said. “We’ve been tested all year against the Bristol Easterns and the Rocky Hills. I feel like we’ve been playing better as of late.”

Should the Indians come away with an upset, they will then take on the winner of No. 9 Trumbull (17-3) and No. 24 Simsbury (10-10) March 3 at 7 p.m.
