Girls Basketball wins home opener

Newington 47, East Catholic 35: Stasha Greenalch scored 16 points while Ashley Beauford had 13 to help propel the Indians to their first win of the season. Greenalch also had 20 deflections and Beauford added seven rebounds. Greenalch also made three 3-pointers in her big game. Katy Mathielle scored 15 points for East Catholic and Dominique Woods added 10 of her own.
