Girls Basketball earns quality victory over NB

NEWINGTON — The Newington girls basketball team picked up a 57-39 victory on Thursday night over visiting New Britain, rebounding from a sluggish first quarter to pull away later in the game.

Abrial Murray led the Indians in the game with 20 points, while Ashanti Frazier had 10 points and eight steals, Gio Rivera netted 10 points, Maya Gajowiak had seven points, Aby Flores collected four points and five assists and Olivia St. Remy had four points and 14 rebounds.

New Britain was led by Gabby Roy (16 points) and Jamyra Irizarry (8).
